Recreating the Titanic’s Maiden Voyage

This Titanic Memorial located in Belfast, Ireland was unveiled in June 1920 and commemorates those lost in the tragedy.

To celebrate the centennial anniversary of the Titanic’s ill-fated voyage in 1912, the Titanic Memorial Cruise and the Mission to Seafarers joined in a charity partnership to recreate for the first time ever, the Titanic’s maiden voyage.

“The fascination for the Titanic is as strong as ever,” Managing director of The Titanic Memorial Cruise, Miles Morgan said. “The whole voyage will be steeped in Titanic history. The food served will match the sumptuous menus on the original voyage; the entertainment will include music and dancing in the style featured in those glorious times and there will be a chance to hear first hand from historians who have studied the Titanic story – it promises to be a truly memorable cruise.”

The cruise, which departed New York on April 10, 2012, offered an 8 night voyage of a lifetime as passengers spent 8 nights touring memorial sites to commemorate the 100th anniversary.
