She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels.

Alan Jackson wrote the very meaningful and emotional, “Sissy’s Song” in memory of young woman who was close to him and his family. Leslie Fitzgerald, nicknamed Sissy lived and worked at the Jackson house with her husband, who looked after the family’s vehicles. She looked after the house, and was almost part of the family. Jackson described her as a part of their life more then some relatives from out in Georgia. Fitzgerald was unexpectedly killed in a motorcycle accident in the year 2007. Jackson and his family were hit hard by the tragic unexpected death. He wrote the song after a restless night and gave it to the Fitzgerald family to use at the funeral. The song dedicated to Fitzgerald was the fourth single released from the Good Times album.
