Soccer Themed Funeral for Brothers

A fitting send off.

Two young soccer fans who were killed in a car accident were buried together in a Manchester United coffin. Aaron and Ben Peak, aged ten and eight, from Partington, Greater Manchester were killed in a car accident on June 7, 2008. The boys were on their way to a motor sport event with their father and three friends when the accident happened. Their father Phil Peak, suffered a broken neck and back in the crash. Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper, Luke McCormick was charged for dangerous driving causing death as well as being accused of driving under the influence of excessive alcohol.

Over 200 mourners gathered for the tragic funeral of the young soccer fans. The boys’ bodies were taken to the church in a horse-drawn carriage and carried out by pallbearers wearing red and white Manchester United shirts with the boys names and ages on the back. They were carried in a double coffin with their names on the back and the colors of their favorite team. After the funeral, the family gathered for a private burial at Dunham Lawn Cemetery where red balloons were released.
