The unexpected death of English soul singer Amy Winehouse deeply impacted many fans around the world.

Winehouse was honored by fans and fellow celebrities across twitter, Facebook and tumblr. Over 57 thousand comments (with the number rapidly climbing) containing memorial wishes were posted on a single photo of Winehouse on her official Facebook fan page. Lady Gaga, a fellow performer, posted “Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues” on her twitter account, a comment that many people agreed with.

Fans are paying tribute to Winehouse by placing items outside of her London house, including flowers, candles and photographs – but also more personal items, such as bottles of alcohol, unlit cigarettes and even full wine glasses.

It is reported that her funeral may possibly happen on July 25 or 26, and Winehouse is expected to have a quiet Jewish burial. As more details emerge, the story will be updated.
